Lakefest 5K Run/Walk & Dash N' Splash Fun Run

LakeFest 5K Run/Walk This 5K run/walk will start and end on beautiful Circle Drive at Lake DeFuniak, #1 roundest lake in America. The scenic paved run will showcase many of DeFuniak’s over 200 homes listed on the historic register. Cool down afterwards at the Dash n’ Splash fun run starting at 11:30AM.

Get ready to run or walk through the historic community surrounding Lake DeFuniak!

The LakeFest 5K Run/Walk and the Dash N’ Splash Fun Run will be held May 21, 2016 at 7am. The event is a fundraiser for the Walton County Prevention Coalition and will be timed by International Running Company, using their Jaguar chip timing system.

Runners can register here up until the race start. Our registration price starts at $15 and will include a great Lakefest gift with your registration, but does not include a race shirt. The 5K race begins at 7 a.m. at the Chautauqua Center on 96 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435 and ends at the same location. The route will take runners by some of the 200+ historic homes that surround Lake DeFuniak. In addition, there will be door prizes and refreshments for runners/walkers.

Awards will be given to both male and female runners across multiple categories. These include 1st – 3rd overall finishers, Master, Grand Master, top finishers in each age group, wheelchairs, and the overall male and female winner for walkers.

The Dash N’ Splash Fun Run is aquatic themed and will begin at 11:30 AM. Participants will get SOAKED from water features along the all paved route. This race is included with the 5K registration fee or as a separate event for those who do not want to run the 5K. $5 per individual or $20 for 4-9 immediate family members.

The LakeFest 5K run/walk brought back the tradition of racing around Lake DeFuniak while encouraging wellness across our community. We need your support to keep this annual event! 9:00AM – 4:00PM LakeFest which includes attractions such as: Kids’ Entertainment, Paddle-Powered Watercraft on the Lake, and Live Entertainment in the Lakeside Amphitheatre from local artists.
